Missoula is a city in the west of the American state of Montana, the center of the district of the same name. It stands in a valley at the foot of the Bitterroot mountain range, on the Clark Fork River, one of the tributaries of Columbia, near the confluence of the Bitterroot River. There are several protected forests of national importance around. The population of the city is 67,000 people.
