Chatham is a city in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. Chatham is located at the southeastern tip of Cape Cod and has historically been a fishing community. First inhabited by the British in 1664, this town was originally called Monomoit, based on the term for the indigenous population of the region. The population of the town is 6,500 people.
