Cathedral Square Webcam

This webcam is installed on a residential building with the famous commemorative plaques (Lapidi commemorative rivolte antispagnole), which also houses the Siciliafolk S R L shop. The camera is facing northeast and shows Piazza Duomo — a beautiful historical square in Messina.
Let's take a closer look: in the right part of the frame, the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption (Basilica Cattedrale "Santa Maria Assunta") immediately catches the eye. It is the city's main Catholic church and the most important spiritual center of the archdiocese, which has become a symbol of Sicily's resilience. Just to the left, you can see the Cathedral Bell Tower (Campanile del Duomo) with the world's largest astronomical clock. In the lower part of the frame is the 16th-century Orion Fountain (Fontana d'Orione), dedicated to the mythical founder of the city. Right behind it stands the Palazzo dello zodiaco (Zodiac Palace) — an elegant Art Nouveau building whose facade is decorated with astrological graffiti.
Finally, in the left part of the frame on the hill, you will notice the Shrine of Christ the King (Tempio di Cristo Re) — a majestic memorial church with a huge dome.
