Powell River is a city on the north coast of the Sunshine in southwestern British Columbia, Canada. Most of its population lives along the eastern shores of Malaspina Sound, which is part of the larger Strait of Georgia between Vancouver Island and the mainland. The population of the city is 13,000 people.
