Vilijampolė Neighborhood Webcam

This webcam is installed in the Eiguliai district of Kaunas and is directed to the southwest.
In front of you is a panoramic view of the Vilijampolė neighborhood — one of the historic parts of the city located near the confluence of the Neris and Nemunas rivers. The district is known for its rich history: it used to be a separate suburb and for a long time was known as Slobodka. The famous Slobodka Yeshiva was located here, making the area well known far beyond Lithuania. Today Vilijampolė combines residential quarters, markets and lively city streets.
In the center of the frame, through the trees, you can see Varniai Bridge (Varnių tiltas), which connects Vilijampolė with the northern districts of the city and serves as an important transport route.
In the background you can see the apartment blocks surrounding the popular local market Vilijampolės turgus.
