Midtown is a vibrant neighborhood home to Wayne University, modern art galleries, modest cafes, and rock, punk and dance clubs that run until dawn. The walls of the Detroit Institute of the Arts are decorated with huge murals depicting man and machine by Mexican artist Diego Rivera.
