This webcam is installed on the historic Maximilianeum building and faces west.
The view opens onto one of the central locations of Munich’s Altstadt district. In the center of the frame runs Maximilianstraße — one of the city’s most prestigious and well-known streets, developed in the 19th century by order of King Maximilian II. Today it is known for its theaters, galleries, boutiques, and elegant urban architecture.
In the lower part of the frame, you can see the Maximiliansbrücke bridge crossing the Isar River, as well as Prater Island — a green recreational area within the city. In the background, the classic architecture of Munich’s historic Altstadt is visible.
