Camera Overview

This webcam is installed on the Museum of Science building on the famous Charles River Dam Road Bridge and faces southwest.
In the frame, a beautiful view opens up before you of the Charles River, which divides Boston and Cambridge. In the center of the frame, you can see the historic Longfellow Bridge, built in 1906. Due to the whimsical shape of its towers, locals call it the "Salt and Pepper Bridge", and trains of the subway's Red Line run right down its center. To the right, you can see the Kendall Square neighborhood in Cambridge—one of the world's leading centers for high tech and biotech. Below it, the docks of the Charlesgate Yacht Club are visible. On the left side of the frame is Boston and its interestingly situated Lederman Park, which seamlessly blends into the famous city Esplanade. Above, the majestic high-rises of the prestigious Back Bay neighborhood shape the city's iconic skyline.
