Camera Overview

This webcam is installed on the building of the Great Lakes Research Center institute located on the campus of Michigan Tech University and faces west.
In front of you, the frame opens up a view of the Keweenaw Waterway — a partly natural, partly artificial waterway in the state of Michigan that crosses the Keweenaw Peninsula and connects two parts of Lake Superior. On the right side of the frame, across the body of water, you can see the coastline of the small community of Ripley. On the left side of the frame, the Central Heating Plant building is visible. In the distance, you will see the small town of Hancock and the Portage Canal Lift Bridge.
Watch the vessel traffic, changing weather, and picturesque landscapes of the region!
